- Final day of the Leigh Festival with the 'Zoo Meets Factory Halfway' line up featuring bands from the Liverpool and Manchester labels (Zoo and Factory respectively). Among the bands featured were Echo & the Bunnymen, Joy Division, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Teardrop Explodes, A Certain Ratio. The day's poster was designed by Peter Saville and was given the Factory FAC 15 catalogue number.
