  • 23 November 1979: Another Brick in the Wall Pt.2 released as a single
  • 26 November 1979: John Peel plays four tracks from the album commending it for its anti-fascist lyrical content. [1]
  • 27 November 1979: Another Brick in the Wall Pt.2 enters the UK singles charts at no.26.
  • 29 November 1979: video for Another Brick in the Wall Pt.2 shown for the first time on Top of the Pops.
  • 03 December 1979: The Wall enters the UK album charts at no.3, its peak position for 4 + 1 weeks (kept off the top by Rod Stewart and ABBA Greatest Hits albums).
  • 04 December 1979: the single shoots to no.2, kept off the top by The Police - Walking on the Moon.
  • 11 December 1979: the single reaches no.1 in the UK, remaining at the top for five weeks.
